Did Teach – Tailored Teacher Career Transition Workshops
Are you looking for a new challenge after dedicating time to the classroom? Are you unsure about your next steps?
Then we can offer you a tailored bespoke package focused on your individual needs & your personal values that puts you the teacher at its core.
It can be difficult for teachers to embark on the journey to a rewarding second career. We know the myriad of skills and experiences you possess & crucially understand how to present your achievements in a highly effective & successful manner.
The course design involves a 3 phased approach.
Phase 1 – Katie the CEO of Did Teach & a former teacher will initially meet with you on a one to one (at least 30 mins long) basis to personally discuss:
- Your background
- Career direction
- Job searching
- Branding yourself
- Researching and communicating with companies.
CV’s – The starting point for most people is the CV – and it is crucial to get it right. We can ensure you have a CV you are proud of and have specific structure and content we teach, so that you can best articulate your skills and experience to specific careers.
Cover letter & Online applications – This is your chance to show where you can add value to a potential employer. We train you in what the employer is looking for and how you should approach covering letters and applications, including what to put in (and not put in!).
Interview Techniques – Practice and preparation are key for interviews. Most people do not interview often and so lack the confidence and knowledge to put themselves across in the best manner. We go into detail about what you should be saying and doing in interviews, building your confidence and competency.
Phase 3 – Career coaching session – One to one at a time of your choosing (30 mins long) with either Katie or Milo, tailored to your needs.
- Honing your CV for a particular role
- Practicing for interview
- Detailed career advice on an area of your choosing.
We believe in aftercare! So there is also the opportunity for longer term networking with teachers who have successfully made the leap into new careers on a private Linkedin group and Katie’s contact list means that she can connect you directly with key players in a range of organisations enabling you to establish lines of communication with hiring managers.
