We have exciting opportunities for After School Club Teachers to join our forward thinking business. We aim to encourage children’s problem solving skills, instil creativity and prepare children for future technical innovations.

Are you looking for flexible, education based part time work with little planning and assessment?

All sessions are pre-planned and STEMKids provides all required resources and manages bookings and club registers. Presenters are paid £28 per club session and most clubs run for 6-10 one hour sessions.

Contracts are short term so bookings can be balanced with other study, family and work commitments.

The role

As After School Club Teacher, you will be running educational, hands on after school clubs for children which run for 1 hour.  You will be provided with all equipment for the session along with online tutorials on how to construct the tried and tested projects.

The children will be working with kits that build a variety of exciting items such as torches, air rockets and balloon powered cars;  mixing slime or working with circuits.

During the session, you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

Setting up and introducing the project in a positive and exciting manner; ensuring safeguarding policies are followed; explain the STEM principles involved in the project ; demonstrating how to construct the project;

listening and talking to individual children, helping and guiding them through the project; retaining a sense of humour in times of chaos!

About you

Previous experience of teaching and working with children in a classroom setting

A current Enhanced DBS certificate for working with children is required for this role. We will need to see original identity documentation in order to apply for this clearance if you do not currently have this certificate.
